French Toast w/Mascarpone
French toast is a classic breakfast dish that many of us enjoy. But have you ever thought about taking it up a notch? In this recipe, we’ll show you how to make delicious French toast stuffed with creamy mascarpone cheese.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup coconut flakes (optional topping)
- 2 tbsp mascarpone cheese
- Brioche Bread (Or thick sliced bread)
Instructions
- In a bowl mix together the eggs, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, sugars, salt, milk, and heavy cream and set aside
- Spread the mascarpone cheese on one side of the brioche bread, create a sandwich with another slice, then dunk both sides of the sandwich in the milk and eggs mixture
- Melt butter in a skillet and cook the bread on medium heat until golden brown on each side
- Toast the coconut flakes in a skillet set to medium heat until golden brown
- Serve the french toast with the toasted coconut flakes, your fruit of choice, whipped cream, and maple syrup.
